Religion discrimination
A little while ago, I saw a short video about muslin women beaten in a
public place. It was social experiment. At the beginning is shown men,
who during altercation hit her girlfriend. He immediately encountered
with inimical stranger reaction. Afterwards, it was examined whether
people will react in the same way if women wore the Muslim hijab
covering. They looked, sometimes even recorded, but only one person say
anything. Such a situation is religion discrimination. Media, schools,
places of work promotes diversity and understanding of different races,
religions and cultures. Moreover, nowadays most of the people consider yourself
as a tolerant person. However, this video show us that still happen
situations, when community treats people unfairly compared to someone
else, because of her/his religion or beliefs.
It may be more complicated. Where was this experiment done? If it was done in Europe or the US, it is understandable that people are less ready to intervene in a conflict between people representing a foreign culture they don't know or understand. I think it needs a more in-depth analysis and the experiment should be repeated in various cultures with various subjects.
