Religion discrimination

A little while ago, I saw a short video about muslin women beaten in a public place. It was social experiment. At the beginning is shown men, who during altercation hit her girlfriend. He immediately encountered with inimical stranger reaction. Afterwards, it was examined whether people will react in the same way if women wore the Muslim hijab covering. They looked, sometimes even recorded, but only one person say anything. Such a situation is religion discrimination. Media, schools, places of work promotes diversity and understanding of different races, religions and cultures. Moreover, nowadays most of the people consider yourself as a tolerant person. However, this video show us that still happen situations, when community treats people unfairly compared to someone else, because of her/his religion or beliefs.

    It may be more complicated. Where was this experiment done? If it was done in Europe or the US, it is understandable that people are less ready to intervene in a conflict between people representing a foreign culture they don't know or understand. I think it needs a more in-depth analysis and the experiment should be repeated in various cultures with various subjects.

Will Ho, a marrine biology photographer from Taiwan, captured amazing images of glowing blue sand, on the beach in the Maledives. As a matter of fact, this glow was caused by living creatures, which are actually a type of bioluminescent plankton called Lingulodinium polyedrum. Typically, these creatures float around the ocean undetected. They don't glow all of the time. It takes energy to make the chemicals that allow them to glow. However, when they are under stress, whether from strong current or crashing wave, they emit beautiful light. This marvelous phenomenon was used by director Ang Lee in the film  "Life of Pi". Nevertheless, this phenomenom is not a good think. It's also know as a "red tide", what is common term used for harmful algal bloom. Some of these tiny organisms produce toxins that kill marine animals, make shellfish dangerous to eat and have harmful effects for human. National Ocean Service have been monitoring and studying this phenome...

Peacock and computer screen

The main topics in this podcast are peacocks and colors. Lector tells some basic information about peacocks and their behavior, how work human receptors and what is the difference between normal color and color on peacock's tail named structural color. And how people could use structural color in technology.  I think that it's great idea to save energy. If we could make colors through complex structures instead of normal screens, we would in some way relieve to our planet. Nowadays, people use a lot of electronic devices. "Tree of life"

In video "Tree of life" scientist David Attenborough explains Darvin's theory of revoluctions and make us aware of relation of all lifes. In short speech, he discribe really accurately history of life. In detail, but understandable describe differences structure and parts of bodies of various organisms. I think Attenborough speaks passionately and in intresting way. Moreover speech is clear not only for scientists, but for everyone.
